Refund Policy

ELA Alcove is owned and operated by Encourage Elementary Education Services, a sole proprietorship registered in San Jose, California, USA. This Refund Policy explains when and how we offer refunds for purchases made through our online store. This Policy applies to digital download resources purchased from the ELA Alcove website (https://elaalcove.com).

This Refund Policy is part of our Terms and Conditions. Please read the Terms and our Privacy Policy for more information about how we handle your purchases and your personal information.

We work hard to create resources that are useful, clear, and ready to use. Because our products are digital and available for immediate download, our refund options are very limited, as explained below.

Digital Products

All sales are final. Due to the immediate, digital nature of downloadable products, we do not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges once a purchase is completed.

By purchasing any digital download from our website, you acknowledge and agree that you lose your right of withdrawal and that your purchase cannot be cancelled or refunded.

1. Why Digital Products Are Non-Refundable

Unlike physical goods, digital resources cannot be physically returned or verified as deleted after download. Once you gain access to the file and can download or use it, the value has been delivered.

Our resources are designed to be ready to use as soon as you receive them, so we ask that you review product descriptions carefully before purchasing.

2. Scope of Policy

This Policy applies to all digital teaching resources sold on this site, including but not limited to:

  • Classroom resources, lessons, and activity packs

  • PDF guides, eBooks, and digital planners

  • Printable worksheets, task cards, and graphic organizers

  • Any other digital teaching materials available through our store

3. Exceptional Circumstances

We understand that technical issues and honest mistakes can happen. While we do not generally offer refunds, we will review refund requests in the following limited situations:

  • Corrupted or broken files: If the downloaded resource is technically defective and cannot be opened or used as intended, and our support team is unable to resolve the issue.

  • Incorrect product delivery: If you receive a completely different resource than the one shown on the product page and listed on your order.

  • Double purchase: If you accidentally purchased the exact same digital resource twice in separate transactions.

If you believe your situation fits one of these categories, please contact us using the information below. We may ask for your order details and a brief description of the issue so we can help you as quickly as possible.

Note: Inability to use or lack of technical knowledge to open a standard file format (such as PDF) does not qualify for a refund.

4. International Consumer Notice (EU/UK)

If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may have statutory cooling-off rights (a 14‑day cancellation period) for certain distance sales.

However, this right does not apply in the same way to digital content once you begin downloading or streaming it. By checking the consent box at checkout and starting the digital download or streaming process, you explicitly agree to receive the digital content immediately and waive your 14‑day right to cancel.

5. Contact Support

If you experience any technical difficulties downloading or accessing your files, or if you believe your situation fits one of the exceptional circumstances described above, please contact our support team at beth@encourageeducation.net.

We are committed to helping you successfully receive and open your purchase, and we aim to respond within 10–15 business days.
